The solitary Kaokoveld (Kaokoland) in the northwest of Namibia, is one of the most untouched regions in Namibia. The slight undeveloped and almost inaccessible area south of the Kunene River and north of Sesfontein can only be reached with 4x4 and GPS navigation. The Kaokoland is home to the Himba, the partly nomadic tribe, who were able to preserve their ethnic individuality and culture in this secluded land. The rare desert elephants are also at home in this region. In the far north, at the Angolan border, are the beautiful Epupa Falls.
