Dead Sea

Dead Sea in Namibia?  Yes, we also have a so called “dead sea” in Namibia. This is an old mining hole, with a very high concentrate of minerals and salt.  The water density is extremely high – thus taking a dip into this “pool” will make you float.  You can try and try again to dip under, but you will remain floating! Being only 17km off the main route to Cape Cross, it is definitely worth a visit.

Swakop Valley Outride

Come and experience the Swakop Valley on the back of a horse! The outrides are small excursions through the Swakop dry riverbed and some of the small canyons into the little moon landscape. It felt like we were on holidays! Why not treat yourself just outside of Swakopmund....

Okutala Lodge

Last weekend, we had the privilege to go and visit the Okutala Lodge, close to the Etosha National Park, and to meet the entire team. What an awesome experience. Okutala Etosha Lodge is a home away from home and it found a forever place in our hearts. There are animals everywhere, from a tame Klipspringer “Klippie” walking around at the Lodge to Mongoose to Suricate to Ostriches etc. We fed Giraffes that come to the Lodge for their so called “tea time”, we met a Rhino called “Noah”, we went on a Leopard, Cheetah & Hyena Feeding Tour, joined Doc Simone Herzog during her daily routines to the Elephants and got some in-depth information on these gentle giants, we ended our day with sundowners high up on a hill overlooking the lodge and the incredible landscape! All this and much more we have experienced with only one weekend at Okutala! A big big thank you goes out to the entire team at Okutala for making this experience a memorable one! Oh yes, last but not least, Okutala is extremely child friendly – we had an entire “bus” full of children with us (ok, there were only 4, but it felt like there were 14 of them J ), and everyone treated these “monsters” as if they were their own!

Kaokoveld Reisebericht

KAOKOVELD | Mai 2014
